Gothic  Combat is not set or agreed upon with regard to time, location or judges.

Gothic Combat begins spontaneously and begin between those of the Gothic Metropolis, either Lycan, Vampire or Mortal.

Gothic Combat does not necessarily involve one on one affairs.  The number of combatants who may participate in Gothic Comat is open ended, no maximum or minimum combatant number rules.

1.  INITIAL COMBAT POSTS -

Weapons shall be stated within your post of entry, BUT, must once again, be posted within your first post of actual combat. If the combatant exceeds the alloted maximum number of weapons allowed the  actions associated with those excessive weapons will be invalidated by the Room Controller.

The posts shall be conducted in an alternating fashion.

2.  WEAPONS -

Each combatant shall be allowed to use a maximum of 4 weapons to be identified as stated above.

Rifles, machine guns and pistols (each with one clip of 15 rounds), ammunition (clip of 15 rounds is considered 1 weapon and count toward the maximum 4.), katana, throwing knives (belt of three), cross bow (with one bolt), bolts (in a group of 5 shall be considered 1 weapon and count toward the maximum 4.)  These 4 weapons will ALWAYS be stated in BOTH the entry and initial combat posts.

The use of objects which are natural to the area in which the combatants are engaging in combat, shall NOT count towards the maximum number of weapons.  Examples are:  rocks, branches, chairs, tables, sand and the like.

The use of animals, such as dogs can be used for attacking or defending.  However, these animals shall act as a weapon, be allowed as a valid weapon and count towards the maximum number of 4 declared weapons ONLY if declared as one of the combatants 4 identified weapons in the entry and initial combat posts.

3.  ACKNOWLEDGEMENT/RESPONSE -

Combatants must acknowledge ALL attacks.  Either, by evasion, blocking, deflecting, accepting the attack, but with use of realistic means.  The combatants all shall be judged upon their realism in defense and offense.

The Gothic Combat must FLOW smoothly.  There shall be no backposting.  You shall acknowledge your combatants attack first, before attacking.  There is no need to disrupt the smooth flow of the combat.

Gothic Combat is NOT necessarily a one on one affair, but rather a form of combat in which MULTIPLE Combatants might take part in.  Whether it be 3 on 1 or the like.

You must maintain alternating posts with each combatant you are engaged with, but you may post to one opponent and then post to another without it being considered speed posting.  The time limit applies to the posts from each opponent that attacks you.

4.  5 ACTIONS -

An individual post will consist of NO MORE than 5 actions.

Accepting blows does not count as an action, but, if you deflect, evade, block a strike, it is counted as an action.  If you draw your weapon, attack, parry, reload, use a power it is counted as an action.

The use of 'automatic weapons' shall allow the fire rate of ammunition to be 3 bullets (rounds)  per action.

Repositioning yourself by moving forward, sideways, backwards, in a circular movement, jumping, saumersaults are NOT counted towards the actions, unless these movements are evasions from an attack.

5.  TIME LIMIT -

Combatants will not have to worry about a time limit.   However, keep in mind that you must ensure you do not abuse this leniancy and place an effort in posting quickly.

6.  NUMBERING ACTIONS -

To assist the Room Controller, Combatants shall use the method of separating actions by the  use of a numbered sequence (1, 2, 3, 4, 5).  This shall keep the combat uniform and make it easier for the Room Controller to score His judgement.

This method as well enables the opposing combatant(s) to follow the flow of the combat easier.

7.  COMBINATIONS -

A combination move incorporates two actions that fit well with each other into one, more complex, action.  Combination moves that flow well are encouraged and considered as one action in the total of 5 allowed actions. Combination moves must flow well and must be believable.

8.  FORCE POSTING -

The use of force posting (stating the action, damage of your opponent), is  allowed.  But, you may not state how it effects your opponent.

(i.e.  "Stabbing you in the chest with my katana....puncturing your lung" is an acceptable attack because it states your intention and  the damage it intends.

"Stabbing you in the chest with my katana .... puncturing your lung  making you unable to breath" is an unacceptable attack because it declares how it effects your opponent.)

(i.e.  "Circling to your left  and moving behind you: is an acceptable move because it states your intenton and where you intend to be.

"Circling to your left forcing you to turn" is an unacceptable move because it declares how it effects your opponent.)

9.  REALISM -

All combat MUST be able to allow the Room Controller to actually mentally see the flow of the combat, its realism and  the actions being performed.  Description is the key to a successful combat.  Not only does this aid the judging, it as well, aids the combatants to continue with such a realistic smoothness.

10.  ENDING COMBAT -

For open combat, the battle ends when one opponent has left the area after effectively and realistically makeing the required exit posts, which are 3.

NO new attacks shall be utilized in the retreating/evading posts, if so, then the posts are no longer a retreat or evading post, but a means of continuing the combat.  Either exit or continue the fight, do not do both.

Gothic Combat shall not exceed 60 minutes.  Upon the time limit lapsing no attack shall be left undefended.  The combatant shall be allowed a final defense before Combat officially ends.

11.  NO WARNING -

NO WARNING IS NECESSARY FOR AN ATTACK TO TAKE PLACE.

USING THE ELEMENT OF SURPRISE COULD PROVE FAVOURABLY.
